Hazel 5th December 2016

I was sorry to hear of the passing of my dear friend Anne. She was one of the most lovely people you could wish to meet. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. I first met Anne in the early 1970s at Shield Packaging in Washington, where we both worked. There was a special friendship that grew between, Anne, Iris, Irene, the other Hazel and me who all worked together for many years. Although I moved away from Washington when I married, and later when I emigrated to New Zealand 26 years ago, Anne and I kept in touch throughout all those years. Our friendship has spanned almost 45 years now. The geographical distance made no difference as friendship knows no bounds. I still have all her letters and I know she kept mine. I have such lovely memories of those times at Shield Packaging and also in later years, when the girls used to meet up from time to time as we were always laughing. We shared the same sense of humour and that’s how I will always remember Anne, happy and laughing. With fondest memories, from Hazel Holmes, New Zealand
